This year’s 2nd traditional “Laleli Fashion Shopping Festival,” organized by the Laleli Industrialists and Businessmen Association (LASİAD), kicked off with a magnificent fashion show on May 27.
On May 27, 2013, the LASİAD Board came together for breakfast with the participation of Adnan Güler, Deputy Mayor of Fatih Municipality. Following the arrival of Mustafa Demir, the Mayor of Fatih Municipality, the LASİAD Board visited the shopkeepers in the streets of Laleli and distributed carnations. After the parade, lively performances, dancers, a brass band, magnificent shows by models, and Disneyland characters took place in the streets of Laleli.
Record-breaking runway with 150 meters
Öner Evez, who organized the festival and choreographed the fashion show, created a 150-meter-long runway along Laleli Mesih Paşa Street. Celebrities walked on this runway, including Wilma Elles, Ayşe Hatun Önal, Çağla Şikel, Didem Soydan, Merve Büyüksaraç, Ebru Öztürk, Tuba Melis Türk, Ülkü Taşkın, and Selda Car, along with 40 local and foreign models. The festival opening, hosted by Tatiana, also known as the Russian Bride, had a surprise appearance by Berna Öztürk. Berna Öztürk, who DJed during the fashion show, added a unique touch by walking on the 150-meter runway. Among the special guests of the fashion show were Ahmet Baha Öğütken, Istanbul Deputy, AK Party Fatih Founding District Chairman, and AK Party Deputy Chairman Responsible for Organizations; Kazım Tekin, Deputy Governor of Istanbul; Hikmet Tanrıverdi, President of IHKIB; İrfan Bekaroğlulları, Chief of Police of Fatih District; and Mehmet Ustaoğlu, Deputy Mayor of Fatih Municipality.
The “II. Laleli Fashion Shopping Festival,” organized by LASİAD, hosted domestic and international wholesalers from May 27 to June 02, offering not only discount opportunities but also various activities for guests from the former Eastern Bloc countries, Turkish Republics, and Europe.
