“June coincides with a birth for LASİAD: The establishment of LASİAD on June 6, 1997, marks its 15th anniversary this year. We would like to express our gratitude to our Founding President Ayhan Karahan, and subsequent Presidents Orhan Altun, as well as all the Board Members, our association members, and of course, the Laleli tradesmen, for their contributions to bringing our association to where it is today. In this regard, I must mention that we plan to spend the week starting from May 28 with celebration events for our establishment.
We don’t stop here. We continue our efforts for Laleli. In this context, this month, as the Upper Laleli Commission; we gathered to discuss various issues, starting from parking problems in the region to street vending, shopkeeping, and security issues. We have made some decisions, and in the coming days, we will gradually begin to implement them. However, the most important step we took was bringing together stakeholders in the relevant sectors to find common ground. This unity will empower us and enable us to solve our problems in a more organized manner. Starting is important, but sustaining this desire and will is what truly matters.
We have completed the renewal works of streets such as Kızıltaş, Paşazade, Çoban Çavuş, Şehnameci, Mesihpaşa, Azimkar, Şair Fıtnat, Sait Efendi, and Şair Haşmet. Works in Koska Street and Kocaragıppaşa Street are ongoing. We are planning a similar renewal project for Laleli and Soğanağa Avenues in the near future. Laleli is a whole, and it is our duty to make our tradesmen, who constantly renew and develop themselves, worthy of this whole. We thank our friends who have been with us with all kinds of criticisms throughout this process and continue to support us.
Wishing to walk together in unity and solidarity for many more 15 years…
Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca.”
