At the opening of Borsa Istanbul, BIST 100 index gained 1,436.46 points and 1.60 percent, reaching 90,989.07 points.
The banking index increased by 2.22 percent and the holding index increased by 1.68 percent. While all sector indices started the week with an increase, the biggest gainer was sports with 3.77 percent.
BIST 100 index, which remained horizontal on the last trading day of last week and closed at 89,552.61 points with an increase of 0.05 percent, gained 1.6 percent on a weekly basis.
Analysts noted that the data agenda this week was relatively weak and emphasized that the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey’s price developments evaluation and real effective exchange rate data will be followed today.
Stating that the news flow regarding the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic will continue to be decisive on the direction of the markets, analysts reported that technically, the 92,000 and 95,000 levels in the BIST 100 index are resistance and 88,000 points are strong support.
