The bilateral currency swap agreement signed between the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) and the Central Bank of Qatar on 17 August 2018 has been amended.
CBRT published an announcement regarding the swap amendment agreement signed with the Central Bank of Qatar.
In the announcement, it was stated that with the change, the amount of the swap agreement was increased from Turkish lira and Qatari riyal equivalent to 5 billion US dollars to Turkish lira and Qatari riyal equivalent to 15 billion US dollars, and it was emphasized that the main goal of the currency swap agreement is to facilitate trade in local currencies and to support the financial stability of the two countries. .
