TAI recycled 99 percent of its waste

Thanks to the ecosystem created at TAI, waste is separated and sent for recycling.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has recycled 99 percent of its waste.

According to the statement made by the company, exemplary practices are carried out at TAI on issues such as prevention of waste, efficient use of resources, prevention of waste generation, separate collection and recycling of waste at source.

Thanks to the ecosystem created at the company’s Kahramankazan headquarters and all domestic and international offices, waste is separated and sent for recycling.

In 2019, 2,847 tons of metal, 611 tons of paper, 44 tons of plastic and 6 tons of glass waste were sorted and recycled on-site, preventing the cutting down of 10,386 trees and the emission of greenhouse gases equivalent to 380,607 kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2), and saving 4.6 million kilowatt-hours of energy.

TAI also established the TAI Memorial Forest Project in Kıranardı, Kahramankazan district of Ankara with 10 thousand saplings on behalf of 10 thousand employees.

On the other hand, wood and metal scraps are utilized in other projects of the company.
