According to the announcement made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the country is expected to be under the influence of cold and rainy weather coming from the Balkans starting from the northwest starting from today.
Rainfall is expected to be generally rain in Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Western Black Sea and Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions today; mixed rain and snow in Thrace; and strong showers in Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Precipitation is predicted across the country tomorrow except for eastern and southeastern Anatolia.
Air temperatures, which are expected to hover above seasonal norms until the middle of the week, are expected to decrease noticeably (10-15 degrees) across the country with the cold and rainy systems coming from the Balkans and the Black Sea, and hover below seasonal norms until the beginning of next week.
The wind is expected to blow as a storm from south and southwest (lodos) directions today in Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia and the inner parts of the Black Sea and tomorrow in the eastern Mediterranean, eastern Central Anatolia and the inner parts of the eastern Black Sea. Citizens should be careful and cautious as stove and chimney gas poisoning may occur due to strong lodos storm.
Rainfall expected in the earthquake zone
The earthquake region is expected to be under the influence of rainy weather starting from today morning hours. Precipitation is expected to be in the form of intermittent rain tomorrow and Friday, mixed rain and snow in higher parts.
The rainy system is expected to leave the country on Sunday.
