The 19th edition of the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) took place at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul from January 22 to 25, 2015. The exhibition, featuring the participation of more than 4,500 institutions, organizations, and companies from 71 countries, started magnificently.
The opening ceremony of the 19th EMITT Fair was attended by various distinguished guests, including Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Abdurrahman Arıcı, Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin, President of the Touristic Hotels and Investors Association (TYD) Murat Ersoy, Istanbul Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Emre Bilgili, President of the Union of Turkish Hoteliers (TÜROFED) Osman Ayık, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kadir Topbaş, Tourism Workshop Director Tülin Ersöz, Secretary-General of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) Çetin Gürcün, as well as tourism ministers from foreign countries and numerous tour operators.
LASİAD (Laleli Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association) Laleli Hoteliers Association, representing 43 affiliated hotels, also took its place at the 2015 EMITT Fair. After the opening ceremony, LASİAD’s Quality Laleli booth garnered significant attention. LASİAD Chairman Gıyasettin Eyyüpkoca, Vice President Muhammed Sancaktar, Vice Presidents Ercan Çelik, İsmail Dark, Erdem Soylu Karabağlı, Ahmet Turan, Mehmet Ocaklı, Treasurer İbrahim Murat Ramizoğlu, Board Members Münir Dinler, İhsan Bıyıkbeyi, Rıfat Opan, and Murat Özpehlivan were present at the stand.
Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin, who visited the stand of LASİAD Laleli Hoteliers Association, expressed his admiration for the significant growth compared to the previous year. Throughout the day, Istanbul Chief of Police Selami Altınok and District Chief of Police for Fatih Murat Şahin also visited the stand, which attracted considerable attention. Servet Samsama, a Board Member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) and Vice President of the Association of All Industrialists and Businessmen (TÜMSİAD), and Kemalettin Güneş, Deputy Chairman of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (İHKİB), visited the stand and chatted with members of the Laleli Hoteliers Association. Later, Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca toured the fairground, visited various hotel stands, and engaged in conversations with exhibitors. He also visited the stand of the Bingöl Governorate’s Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.
