Keystone or keystone; It is the name of the stone found at the highest point of domes and arches, which has enabled the stone mesh to be locked throughout history. The task of this stone is to transfer the weight placed on it to the adjacent stones. The absence of this stone, which is a kind of balance element and equalizes the load and weight, triggers a situation that may result in the collapse of the arch and dome.
The global economy and the financial structures of countries have lost their keystone with the pandemic. The economic balances of many countries, especially EU countries, such as inflation, exchange rate, interest, unemployment and foreign trade balance, were shaken, and supply chains suffered blows that will take decades to repair. Countries with negative inflation began to see the highest inflation levels in the last 50 years. In many countries, exchange rates have become captive to volatility and interest rates have lost their balance. Recession-fuelled unemployment and rising inflation signal global stagflation. At this point, the masses, tired of Covid-19, had to face social problems due to the financial difficulties they experienced. Production, employment and exports, which have shifted to the Far East especially in the last 20 years, have changed places with the redistribution of cards on this slippery ground. Countries like Türkiye have begun to increase their share of this global pie. Our country will be one of the rare countries that will benefit from this process with its production infrastructure and power, productive population and efficient working model. Especially with the implementation of raw material and semi-finished product investments, we will have a self-sufficient economy that has minimized its economic dependence on foreign sources. This development, especially in the long term, heralds a Turkey where unemployment is minimized, current account balance is maintained and a foreign trade surplus is achieved. Although the daily foreign exchange crises we experience tire us out in terms of pricing, we can say that brighter days await us once we get through this difficult transition period. Turkey is a candidate to be the star of the region in every sense, supporting the producers to the fullest, capable of producing and exporting import substitution products on its own. Instead of an economic model based on hot money, an economy that works, operates and can sell what it produces to global markets is indispensable for a country with a young population like ours. Moreover, our country, which is strong with its production infrastructure and mechanisms, has the ability to achieve this transition painlessly and easily. In this context, it is possible to see this movement in the dollar as the last struggle of the channels that resist this transition and try to lock our country into the interest/foreign exchange axis. The fact that a country such as Turkey, which has great geopolitical and strategic importance, adopts an economy centered on production, of course scares and makes more aggressive the groups that benefit from the status quo and will lose their current rent. However, no matter what is done, no matter how many attacks one is exposed to, one should never turn back from this path. Such opportunities come to countries maybe once every fifty or even a hundred years. Turkey is one of the rare countries that can fill the gap created by China’s completion of its economic development process. In order to register this power and turn it into a permanent gain for our country, we must never, ever compromise on our determined stance as a nation and state. No matter how difficult, difficult and complicated the experiences are, we must never turn back from our path. Türkiye will only grow and become stronger by producing. It is vital that we act with this motto, especially for the economic security of us and future generations. As a nation that has suffered great difficulties and poverty throughout history, we must never lose our determination and stand shoulder to shoulder and tall against the global financial gangs. As we always say, the future is ours, the future belongs to Turkey.
On this occasion, I wish you a happy new year and hope that 2022 will bring health, peace and happiness to you, your family, your loved ones and our beautiful country.
