”We Serve Our Country with ‘Trend Innovation”
The ‘Textile Accessories Trend and Innovation Event,’ organized for the third time under the auspices of the Garment Sub-Industry Association (KYSD), took place at the Wow Airport Hotel Convention Center on September 25-26.
Sub-Industries Support Fashion Perception with ‘Trend Innovation’
In his opening speech, KYSD President Murat Özpehlivan expressed that the ‘Trend Innovation’ event has three main objectives. He stated: ‘First, to develop the trend and innovation direction of our sub-industry. Second, to increase University-Industry cooperation, which we initiated with Okan University a long time ago. They provide us with different perspectives with the creations they prepare. Third, to support the fashion perception of our ready-to-wear industry with sub-industry. As we always say, without the sub-industry, there is no complete industry. Fairs, events, and B2Bs are organized all over the world. Providing sector companies participating in fairs and B2Bs with stands at a value of around 380 dollars per square meter, compared to 500-600 Euros today, is truly serving the country. In this sense, I would like to applaud our fair committee and our board of directors who work hard.’
Industry-Education Collaboration Must Be Sustainable
Okan University Faculty of Fine Arts Design and Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Demet Irklı Eryıldız emphasized the importance of industry-education harmony in her speech. Eryıldız stated, ‘Thanks to you, our students get to know the materials produced by the valuable industrialists of the sector and create designs with those materials. Thus, while their creative powers develop, they also get acquainted with the industry. And we see this as a great gain.’
Vision 2030 Launch on the Last Day
After the speeches, the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the event was held by sector representatives together. Later, President Özpehlivan and other sector representatives toured the stands and conveyed their good wishes to the participants.
Many sector representatives attended the event, including LASİAD Vice President of the Board Muhammed Sancaktar, Vice President Barış Köseliören, Ahmet Turan, Board Member Rıfat Opan, and Mehmet Ocaklı.
