The banking index increased by 3.10 percent and the holding index increased by 2.35 percent. Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was transportation with 3.76 percent, and the only loser was sports with 1.71 percent.
In parallel with the buying-oriented trend in global markets yesterday, BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul completed the day at 96,249.09 points with a 0.41 percent gain in value.
Analysts said that the gross domestic product data in China, which is important to see the economic dimension of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic today, decreased by 6.8 percent annually in the first quarter, and industrial production in the country decreased less than expectations in March, keeping optimism alive. .
Pointing out that the risk appetite has increased as countries started to talk about loosening the restrictive measures taken due to Covid-19, analysts reported that the Central Bank’s April expectation survey will be followed in the country today, and inflation and construction production in the Eurozone and the leading index in the USA will be followed abroad.
Analysts said that technically, if the BIST 100 index remains above 97,000 points, 100,000 points may come to the agenda, and 95,000 points are in a support position.
