The new Navtex (Maritime Notification) for the area where the Oruç Reis ship will conduct seismic work has been extended until September 12th.
The previous announcement stated that the work in the relevant region would continue until September 1st, but with the new announcement, the mission period has been extended by 11 days.
Accordingly, the Oruç Reis seismic research vessel, along with the ships Ataman and Cengiz Han, will conduct seismic work in the Eastern Mediterranean, specifically in the area previously announced near Cyprus.
The Oruç Reis seismic research vessel is capable of conducting various geological, geophysical, hydrographic, and oceanographic research, particularly related to continental shelf and natural resource exploration.
This vessel, which is one of the few fully equipped and versatile research ships in the world, can perform 2D and 3D seismic, gravity, and magnetic geophysical surveys. It is capable of conducting three-dimensional seismic operations up to 8,000 meters deep, and two-dimensional seismic operations up to 15,000 meters deep.
