Financial consultancy Arton Capital has released its list of the most powerful passports based on visa-free travel and human development levels. As in previous years, Turkey and Russia were neck and neck again.
Turkey ranked 42nd in the global ranking and 83rd in the individual ranking. Russia ranked 43rd globally and 86th individually. Turkish and Russian passports allow visa-free entry to 104 and 103 countries, respectively.
The global ranking is based on the number of countries that can be entered without a visa, while the individual ranking is based on the number of countries where visas can be obtained at border gates.
At the top of the list is Germany, whose citizens can enter 158 countries without a visa. Sweden (157), Singapore (157), Denmark (156), Finland (156), France (156), Spain (156), Switzerland (156), Norway (156), Great Britain (156) and the United States (156) round out the top 11.
