Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) started 2020 with new practices to make the lives of exporters easier. Speaking at the introductory meeting of the Digital Transformation and Export 2020 Report, one of TİM’s innovations, TİM President İsmail Gülle said, “We are in a period when the indispensability of exports has been registered for the sustainability of the Turkish economy. “For this reason, we have accelerated our work on new generation trade diplomacy in order to increase the added value and volume of our exports and accelerate entry into new markets,” he said. Emphasizing that they started 2020 with new records, Gülle said, “We are undertaking important transformations in which we will provide service to our exporters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to reach our 2020 export target of 190 billion dollars.”
New Generation Commercial Diplomacy
Announcing the Export 2020 Report at the meeting, Gülle said: “One of the important topics we will focus on in 2020 will be New Generation Commercial Diplomacy activities. In this context, this year we focused on the pillars of new generation trade diplomacy such as new generation trade delegations, e-export, digital platforms and Turkey logistics centers.” Noting that, as a special title in the report, they examined global trends towards 2030, such as last year’s RCA analysis, and the future of both commercial and economic indicators, Gülle said, “The countries that will import the most in the world in 2030, which products and sectors in these countries will be more global.” We shared in detail that it will be subject to trade. “In order to increase our current export performance, we analyzed the main countries in which Turkey competes with our exporters as well as the target market country and product concentration,” he said.
“We shaped our agenda around the ‘5G’ vision”
Stating that in addition to the analyzes and predictions in the report, they also presented TİM’s 2019 activities and 2020 agenda to the attention of the economic circles, Gülle said, “We shaped our 2020 agenda around our 5G vision.” Stating that this year, they will continue to hold nationally resonant events such as Turkey Innovation Week and Turkey Design Week and that they have entered a year in which they will restructure international events, Gülle pointed out that digitalization is now a reality of the age and business is done in the digital environment. Stating that they are developing projects with the Project and Digital Transformation Office established within TİM in order to catch up with the times and support the exporters, Gülle continued as follows:
“In this context, we first redesigned our TİM website and added easy-to-use features. “We have made the site so that exporters can perform many of the transactions they need online.” In addition, Gülle stated that the ‘Membership Inquiry and Verification Document’, one of the most important documents used by exporters in customs procedures, can now be created and received within seconds via the website or e-government, and said:
“From now on, companies that want to inquire about the green passport service will be able to access information about green passport rights and the documents required to obtain a green passport in a very short time by participating in the green passport inquiry test on both the TİM website and our mobile application.”
TİM Mobile Application brings it to the world with one touch
With the TİM Mobile Application, another digital project of TİM, exporters will be able to view all export and market data for global markets, new generation target market analysis reports, country information notes and other informative publications. Exporters will also be able to access all the necessary standards and documents wherever they will deliver products to any part of the world, through the digital platform on which TİM works together with the Turkish Standards Institute. Exporters will also have access to detailed analysis, data and graphics about their products with Export Radar, developed for both the mobile application and the website. Exporters will be able to find answers to their questions and problems 24/7 with the AloTİM application.
