TİM PRESIDENT İSMAİL GÜLLE: READY-TO-WEAR CAME THIRD

Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM), with the participation of Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, announced the provisional foreign trade data for November at the Foreign Trade Complex in Istanbul. In November, exports were 16 billion 214 million dollars according to the General Trade System (GTS). In the first 11 months of the year, exports increased by 1.8 per cent to 165 billion dollars and exports for the last 12 months reached 180 billion dollars.

TIM President İsmail Gülle said, “The leader of November was our automotive sector with exports of 2.7 billion dollars, while our chemicals sector, which reached 1.8 billion dollars, came second and our ready-to-wear and apparel sector, which reached 1.5 billion dollars, came third.”

Stating that the spirit of the time is being questioned and that great changes are taking place in the world, Gülle continued as follows:

“Turkey is a candidate to be among the top 10 largest economies with its strategic position and dynamic and qualified population. The fact that the developments in the Trans-Eurasian Corridor and the Mediterranean Basin highlight our country as an important base in both global trade and international political economy supports these claims. LASIAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Gıyasettin Eyyüpkoca, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Ahmet Turan and Süleyman Kaya, Board Members Sebahattin Demir, Coşkun Melengiç, Bülent Koca and President Special Staff Nada Ökten attended the programme where export data were announced.
