The Presidential Decree on Amending the Supplementary Decision to the Import Regime Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette.
With the Presidential Decree published on April 17, 2020, customs duties applied to iron and steel products such as slabs, billets, flat rolling products, alloy products, profiles and stainless sheet were temporarily increased by 5 percent until July 15, 2020.
With today’s Presidential Decree, the implementation of the customs duty increase on iron and steel products has been extended until September 30, 2020 (including this date).
The decision in question aims to protect production and employment in the iron and steel industry in Turkey.
