TRİSAD Offers Job Opportunities to Those Benefiting from Probation.

Through the collaboration between the Ministry of Justice Istanbul Probation Directorate and the Turkish Knitwear Industrialists Association (TRISAD), a knitting workshop was opened to provide job opportunities for individuals subject to probation measures. The opening ceremony of the course took place on February 19th at the Istanbul Probation Directorate Building. In the project, training will be provided to individuals under probation to operate flat knitting machines and to work in the garment sector as well. Skilled trainers will lead the education, and those who complete the training under probation will receive a participation certificate and a job guarantee in TRISAD-affiliated workplaces. The opening ceremony was attended by Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Salih Sol, Istanbul Probation Director Necmi Sultani, TRISAD President Mustafa Balkuv, Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ITHIB) President Ismail Gulle, and Sock Manufacturers Association (CSD) Member Ozkan Karaca. LASIAD was represented by Board Vice President Baris Koselioren and Board Member Arif Ozkan.

Speaking at the opening, TRISAD President Mustafa Balkuv said, ‘We are implementing such a social project for the first time in Turkey. We opened a workshop in this facility to provide the industry and our country with the trained workforce it needs. We are proud to be the first to initiate such a project in Turkey.’

Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Salih Sol stated, ‘I call this project a win-win, as everyone will benefit. Imagine that convicts are learning a profession while serving their sentences, producing something, and all the products they produce are sent to needy people in all 81 provinces, and they also find employment. Textile industrialists are also benefiting; convicts who learn a profession here are being trained as employees in the textile industry in the future.
