Turkey exported tractor trucks worth 869 million 803 thousand dollars last year, reaching the second highest export figure of all time in this sector after 2018.
According to information received from the Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OİB), the automotive industry closed 2019 with exports of 30.6 billion dollars.
Although the export sales of tractors, one of the sub-groups of the automotive industry, decreased by 4.82 percent last year compared to 2018, it was recorded as the second highest period in the history of the Republic.
Most exports are to Germany, France and Poland
The tractors produced in Turkey were mostly sent to European Union (EU) countries last year. Germany, France and Poland were at the top of these countries with a share of 64 percent.
Exports worth 318 million 431 thousand dollars were made to Germany. There was a 13 percent decrease in exports to this country compared to 2018.
After Germany, the most tractors were sold to France. Exports worth 120 million 916 thousand dollars were made to this country.
Exports of 118 million 767 thousand dollars were made to Poland, which ranked 3rd in the ranking.
Increase in exports to Iraq and Czech Republic
Truck exports to Iraq in 2019 increased by 119.74 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 19 million 444 thousand dollars.
While exports to the Czech Republic, which experienced the highest increase in exports after this country, was 15 million 875 thousand dollars in 2018, it increased by 53.49 percent to 24 million 367 thousand dollars last year.
