While the wounds inflicted on tourism by the plane incident with Russia are being healed rapidly, the first figures that will make the tourism sector smile this year came from the Russian operation of Turkish Airlines. THY will carry more than one million passengers from Moscow alone in the next 6-month tourism season, and it is reported that it will exceed 2 million passengers from all over Russia, far surpassing the figures before the plane incident.
At the airport used by THY in Moscow, it is as if one THY plane is landing and the other is taking off. The Turkish Airlines airplane traffic, which is not seen even in many big cities in Turkey, is being experienced at Moscow Vnukovo Airport. Every day, 15 planes take off and land in Moscow, while 16 planes take off and land four days a week.
-One million passengers only with additional flights
With the opening of the tourism season, THY has added 10 additional flights to the Antalya-Moscow route, operating four flights between Istanbul and Moscow and one Antalya-Moscow flight every day throughout the year, as well as four flights between Ankara and Moscow four days a week. Almost all of Antalya’s aircraft, most of which are wide-bodied and have a capacity of approximately 280 passengers, are flying at full capacity. THY will carry approximately 850 thousand people to Antalya until the end of the season with additional flights from Moscow alone. THY has also added one additional flight to Antalya every day to St. Petersburg and Ufa, and with these flights, it will carry more than one million passengers to Antalya alone.
Turkish Airlines, which carried around 700 thousand passengers from Moscow during the best period with Russia with its regular flights throughout the year, will double this record this year. Turkish Airlines will carry approximately 1.5 million passengers from Moscow to Antalya, Istanbul and Ankara.
-Turkish Airlines will exceed 2 million passengers from all over Russia by the end of the year
Turkish Airlines flies to a total of 10 cities in Russia, with daily flights to Istanbul from St. Petersburg and Kazan, 4 flights a week from Ekaterinburg, Rostov, Sochi and Stavropol, and 3 flights a week from Varonezh, Samara and Ufa. In addition to Moscow, THY flies to Antalya from St. Petersburg and Ufa every day during the tourism season between May and November.
With this flight chart, Turkish Airlines will break a new record by carrying over 2 million passengers from all over Russia by the end of the year.
