The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published the international trade data for December 2019 for the 27-member EU and the 19-member Eurozone.
According to data, the EU’s total exports reached 172.8 billion euros and imports reached 149.4 billion euros in December. The EU had a trade surplus of approximately 23.4 billion euros in December.
Total exports of the Euro Zone increased to 186.1 billion euros and imports to 163 billion euros in December. Thus, the Eurozone reached a trade surplus of approximately 23.1 billion euros in the said period.
According to Eurostat data, Turkey exported approximately 69.7 billion euros to the EU in the 12 months of 2019, while importing 68.2 billion euros from the EU. Thus, Türkiye realized a surplus of 1.5 billion euros in trade with the EU in 2019.
