‘Türkiye has become a paradise for investors’

Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Özlü said, “With the recent initiatives taken by our government, Turkey has become a paradise for investors. I want Japanese businessmen to benefit from these opportunities as well.” said.

On the last day of his visit to Japan, Minister Özlü went to the National Museum of Science and Innovation (MİRAİKAN) in Tokyo with his accompanying delegation. Özlü visited the exhibition here and then watched the demonstration of Asimo, the humanoid robot designed and produced by Honda Motor’s R&D center.

After the National Museum of Science and Innovation, Özlü went to the Japanese electricity company NEC and held a business meeting with company officials and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, where the current collaborations between Turkish and Japanese companies were discussed, future partnerships were discussed. After the meeting, Özlü also visited the NEC exhibition hall and received information about the company’s work.

“Informatics Valley is waiting for Japanese investors”

Özlü recently visited the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in Tsukuba. Özlü, who was welcomed by JAXA President Naoki Okumura, watched the introductory presentation prepared by the center. Özlü met with Astronaut Koichi Wakata here and received information about the center’s work. Özlü, who also visited JAXA’s laboratories and exhibition center, made statements after his visit.

Explaining that they successfully completed their contacts in Japan as a delegation, Özlü said that the visit is of great importance in the development of economic relations between the two countries. Stating that he invited Japanese officials and businessmen to Turkey and that he is expecting them to come to the country as soon as possible, Özlü said, “With the recent initiatives taken by our government, Turkey has become a paradise for investors. I want Japanese businessmen to benefit from these opportunities as well.” he said.

Özlü emphasized that they aim to transform Turkey into a technology base and noted that they, as the ministry, have accelerated their work in this context. Inviting Japanese investors to the Informatics Valley, Özlü stated that they created special incentive and support packages for projects and companies. Having completed his contacts within the scope of his visit to Japan, Özlü left the country.

MİRAİKAN, JAXA and NEC

The Museum, known as MİRAİKAN, was established in Tokyo in 2001. In the museum, which was established to provide information about the role that science and technology will play in the future and the point they can reach, the latest technological developments, the current state of technology in global environment and space research are exhibited. The National Museum of Science and Innovation was visited by many heads of state, prime ministers and ministers, especially US President Barack Obama in 2014 and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2015.

JAXA was established in 2003 to carry out the Japanese government’s work in the field of space. The agency carries out integrated operations related to the Japanese government’s basic research, development and space exploitation in the space field. In addition, at the Tsukuba Space Center, which operates under JAXA, satellite development, improvement of the operational capability of satellites, analysis of observation data from space, use of the space environment with the Japanese experiment module “Kibo” and astronaut training, development of rockets and other space transportation systems are carried out. It works on issues such as promoting space activities and supporting the development of technological research.

Japanese Electric Company NEC was founded in 1899 by Kunihiko Iwadere. The multinational company, which has an important place in the technology market, has approximately 99 thousand employees. Operating in the fields of semiconductors, computers, telecommunications equipment and related software and services, the company provides IT and networking solutions to businesses, communications providers and government organizations. NEC, which first supplied telecommunication equipment to Turkey in the 1960s, established its Middle East and North Africa operations center in Turkey in 2010. AA
