Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba stated that they were very pleased with the excellent cooperation with Turkey throughout 2020 and said that as a result of the meeting held in 2+2 format, cooperation in the Black Sea and the aviation sector will be priority issues between the two countries.
Kuleba made evaluations about Ukraine’s foreign policy in 2020 at the online press conference.
Kuleba asked the AA correspondent, “How do you evaluate Turkey-Ukraine relations in 2020 and the 2+2 format meeting held in Kiev last week?” In response to the question, “We are very pleased with the excellent cooperation with Turkey throughout 2020. The establishment of the meeting in the 2+2 format was an important moment in our political dialogue. I would like to remind you that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were the ones who agreed to implement this new format. ” said.
Kuleba stated that he was very pleased with the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar to Kiev and said, “We had a very intense meeting and determined the priority issues and relevant coordinators to work on. The first of these issues was between Ukraine and Turkey in the Black Sea.” “Strengthening political and military cooperation. The 2+2 format does not only address bilateral relations. This format is a tool to shape the balance in the region as a whole.” he said.
Explaining that the second issue is about cooperation in the aviation industry, Kuleba said, “We have prepared an action plan for the steps to be taken to carry out major joint projects in this field.
