Saudi Arabia announced that it will gradually start Umrah visits, which it has stopped for about 6 months, as of October 4, within the scope of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) measures.
According to the official news agency of Saudi Arabia, a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that as of October 4, 30 percent of the capacity of the Masjid al-Haram (6 thousand people per day) will be opened for those who want to perform Umrah from within the country, and as of October 18, Masjid al-Haram will be opened to those who want to perform Umrah from within the country. He announced that Haram and Ravza-i Sharif in the Masjid al-Nabawi will accept visitors from within the country with 75 percent capacity.
Stating that as of the beginning of November, people coming from home and abroad for Umrah and worship will be accepted, the source stated that at this stage, the Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi will be opened for worship at full capacity by taking Covid-19 precautions.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs source said that visitors will be gradually accepted from countries where there is no risk of Covid-19.
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, this year the pilgrimage was limited to those living in Saudi Arabia, and no pilgrims from abroad were accepted.
